My Role

Team: 2 Developers, 1 Quality Analyst and 1 Product Manager.

Key Responsibilities: Brainstorming sessions, usability tests, task prioritisation, decision making, project management and prototyping.

Objective

As of Q4 2017, 45% of new users dropped off during the on-boarding process. Our objective was to improve SignEasy's on boarding experience and activate more new users to sign their first document.

The graph highlights the drop offs during different stages of the on boarding for new users. View the old flow here.

User Research & Task Prioritisation

We conducted unmoderated usability tests using usertesting.com and UX Cam, these insights helped us during the brainstorming sessions. The ideas were prioritised based on their perceived impact and effort.

Designing for user activation

The team focussed the next 2 weeks on designing and developing the interface, resolving unforeseen challenges within the given time constraint.

Impact & Learnings

This was our first growth sprint and it provided a great opportunity for our team to work closely in an agile manner, increasing the sense of teamwork and ownership. The results helped us validate our ideas and the sprint methodology for our future growth projects.

The final conclusion was to make high impact improvements not only to our on-boarding model but also to the rest of the funnel, in order to see a larger impact on the overall activation rate.
